Which Destination do you Choose?

Hi everyone! I have been thinking about this post for a while and while at church Sunday one of the members of the church (we don’t currently have a pastor) preached about this very topic! I was so excited and thought to myself “YES! I have help getting this down on paper”

Before I go any further I would just like to send out a big Thank You for the two men who get up and preach God’s word and volunteer their free time until God sends a Pastor. Also a shout out to the Pastor Gary who does come once a month to preach to us! He was one of my pastors when I went to church as a kid and went with my mom. How ironic is that?!

John 5:28-29 28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. Retweet

Only two destinations after death. Heaven or Hell. They are very real, which do you choose? It is your choice.

Those who rebel against Christ and do not believe will still be resurrected and have to face Judgement and will be sentenced to eternity to Hell. He does not want that for anyone but he leaves you the choice to live your life the way you wish to. Click to tweet

Acts 24:15 and have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

1 Corinthians 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Paul compared our bodies with the growth in a garden Seeds placed in the ground don’t grow unless they “did” first. The plant that grows is very different looking from the seed, for God gives it a new “body”. Our resurrected bodies will be different from our earthly bodies. They will be spiritual bodies full of glory if you choose to accept Christ as your Savior.

Some people like to ignore that someday we will die . Dying is a part of living and we must prepare for it. Which destination do you choose? Heaven or Hell? Most are afraid of the physical death but really they should be afraid of a spiritual death.

Psalms 89:48 What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.

Men and women who reject God

Matthew 13:36-43 36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parble of the tares of the field. 37 He answered ad said unto them, He that soweth the good see is the Son of man; 38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; 39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and reapers are the angles. 40 As therefore the tares are gathered and bured in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. 41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity. 42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

From these verses we see that those who reject God and his word:

  • will be sent to a place of fire
  • Sent to a place of everlasting destruction.
  • Will be separated from God.
  • There will be Wailing – Sorrow or remorse.
  • There will be gnashing of teeth – shows extreme anxiety or pain.
  • Experience a second death which is eternity in the Lake of Fire.

“Those who don’t care what happens to them after they die  don’t realize what they are saying. They will be punished for living in selfishness and indifference to God.” KJV Study Bible

God says there is a way to escape this eternal punishment. It is possible for a person to live life knowing they will go to Heaven and not Hell. God created us and loves us so much that he made a way to enter into his Heaven after death.

Acknowledge our sinful condition before God (Romans 3 – Everyone is a sinner and we have all fallen short)

Romans 5:8-9 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Remember that God loved you even before you turned to him. The same power that raised Christ from the dead is the same power that will save you and be with you in your daily life. You will be able to pray and call on him every day to help you through daily challenges or trials.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Christ died for our sins, in our place, so we would not have to suffer the punishment we deserve. Click to tweet

1 Peter 2:24 who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we bring dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast.

Titus 3:5-6 Not by the works of the righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  (declares us not guilty)

John 10:27-29 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

Once you become a true Christian rest and know you will go to Heaven. You can’t be plucked out of his hand once you are saved. Your on the list your not getting off of the list! He takes full responsibility for us.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Accepting Jesus and finding Salvation:

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 10:9-13 that if though shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and halt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
