I am ever so thankful that I have ears to hear his word, eyes to read his word and the freedom to share his word. There is Christians out there today that are hidden from sight and can’t be identified as Christians. They do not have the freedom to read freely and tell others about the word like we do. We need to be praying for those who do not have the freedom. We also need to recognize and take advantage of the gift of freedom given to us to be out there spreading his word and letting our lights shine bright.Read More...
Some of you may or may not know this about me, but I do not know my biological father. I have seen a picture and know his name but that is it. If I was to pass him on the street I would not know who he was.
That is ok, I am ok with that. He has been forgiven and I hold no grudges. That is his choice for whatever reason I don’t know and maybe it was a good one. It doesn’t matter now.
I have been blessed with an earthly father who choose to take care of me and still is in my life today!! He is a great man who is gentle, kind, wise and always there for me no matter what. I understand that not all are as lucky I am in that way, so I want you to know you do have a heavenly father who loves you and will be there to guide you and help you grow. He will be there for you to talk to and lean on whenever you need him. He is Our heavenly father.
Psalm 103: 13-22
13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.
14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place therof shall know it no more.
17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;
18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
19 The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all
20 Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
21 Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
22 Bless the Lord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul
God is like a father who is tender and compassionate (not every child has one)
Unfortunately and sadly children are robbed of loving fathers because of abuse and dysfunction. My heart justs breaks for those children.
If you find yourself in that situation or know of someone in that situation, I want you to know God is here for you to be the father you never had or perhaps felt you never needed. You can receive his love (Romans 5::5) even though you can not do the physical things with you.
Romans 5:5 and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
God can tenderly heal your deep loss. Trust him and he will deal with you compassionately.
I recently published a post about being unsure and questioning if I was really saved. Read about it here. After chatting about this with another close friend of mine. I have realized that Yes I was saved when I was younger like I had originally thought I was 🙂 Here is how I got to my conclusion…
It is natural and normal to wonder if you are saved, especially if you go astray like I did for a few years. Read about it here. Either way I was being convicted of a sinful life or conviction of making sure, it is not uncommon. I found it reassuring to know that I was not that the only one to question this at some point. Even mature Christians struggle.
At some point though we have to just TRUST God in his word. Besides trusting God there is no assurance.
Some verses to help you if you may be wondering about your salvation:
2 Timothy 3: 14-15 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou has learned them; 15 and that from a child thou hast know the hold scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
1 Timothy 6: 11-12 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Colossians 2: 6-7 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanks-giving.
Sometimes this is an important part that people overlook, the assurance of salvation. If we have to get saved over and over again there isn’t much assurance in that…however, it is true that some never really get saved, but conviction for a child is different, it doesn’t mean it isn’t conviction. Kids respond to it usually immediately where adults struggle sometimes for years.
