Call Out to God in Your Distress

2 Samuel 22:1-7

1And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul: 2And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; 3The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. 4I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. 5When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. 6The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me; 7In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears

Do you have enemies? Do you maybe need deliverance out of the hand of your enemies like David? David was protected from Saul. Saul was a king who at one time used to murder Christians for thier beliefs. (He later was used by God and became an important Christian in the bible.)

David Praised the LORD. He is his rock, fortress, deliverer, shield, his saviour, horn of his salvation, high tower, refuge.

The following verses are in reference to those who called out to God during their distress throughout the Bible.

Psalm 69:14 – Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.

Psalm 93:4 – The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.

Jonah 2:3 – for thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.

Psalm 116:3-4 3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. 4Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

Psalm 120:1 In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.

David called out to God in his distress. God heard David. Be like David, called to God during your distress.
